During the Isla Nublar Incident, Dr. Ellie Sattler uses the phrase ‘sexism in survival situations’ while rebuking Dr. John Hammond’s arguably politically incorrect attitude towards gender-specific roles in situations of peril. After Ray Arnold failed to return to Jurassic Park’s emergency bunker, Ellie Sattler volunteered to venture out into the open from the bunker and go to the generator shed, where she would complete Arnold’s task and reboot the power system. Game warden Robert Muldoon then elected to accompany her for protection, although John Hammond, seemingly feeling morally bound as a male to ‘preserve’ female life, offered to take Sattler’s place in case of danger from predators.
