Some of the citizens of San Diego were involved in the San Diego Incident in 1997 when an adult male Tyrannosaurus escaped from the SS Venture 5888 due to the negligence of InGen CEO, Peter Ludlow. Notable citizens include one “Unlucky Bastard”, who was eaten by the T. rex while it was on its rampage and Benjamin and his parents whose dog, Rex, was also eaten. Eventually the T. rex was recaptured and the citizens of San Diego were removed from danger thanks to the efforts of Dr. Ian Malcolm and Dr. Sarah Harding.
