The raft storage shed was located on a dock at the edge of the lagoon on Isla Nublar. Dr. Alan Grant discovered it on a series of plans for the park. Dr. Grant then led the children, Lex and Tim Murphy, to the shed from behind the Sauropod Maintenance Building. It was described as a wooden shed being near the end of the dock, painted green to blend with the foliage. Inside were about six life vests, rolls of wire-mesh fencing, some rope, and two non-inflated rubber rafts sitting on the floor. Dr. Grant took one of the rafts and two life vests for the children. He also brought one of the coils of rope from the shed to tie the raft up with.
