Project Ares (L/M)

Project Ares was a large-scale genetics research project undertaken by Dr. Henry Wu and International Genetic Technologies in 2015. The project was primarily carried out on the island of Isla Nublar, which was at the time used as part of the Jurassic World attraction facilities. The project consisted of two main elements, the creation of a highly accurate phylogenetic tree using the latest scientific data and the classification of all Jurassic World animal assets into “candidate” and “legacy” categories. One of the project’s most notable results was the asset Ares 21, classified under the scientific name Indominus rex.
