Phorusrhacos longissimus (L/M)

Phorusrhacos is a genus of large carnivorous flightless birds in the family Phorusrhacidae. Its remains are found in South America, where it lived from 20 to 13 million years ago, during the Burdigalian to Serravallian ages of the Neogene period. Just one species is known, Phorusrhacos longissimus.
