Herbicide (C/N)

Herbicide, more commonly known as weedkiller, is a type of pesticide which is used to kill unwanted plants, e.g., weeds. Some herbicides act by interfering with the growth of a plant and are usually synthetic imitations of plant hormones. Weedkillers that are used to clear waste ground, industrial sites, railways, and railway embankments are not selective and kill any and all plant material that they come into contact with, as any form of plant matter in such areas would be hazardous or is otherwise just undesirable. Much smaller quantities of herbicides are used in forestry, pasture systems, and the management of areas set aside as wildlife habitats.

InGen used herbicides on Isla Nublar, as evidenced by the presence of five-gallon containers of the pesticides.
