Giganotosaurus was the largest of the great ‘shark-tooth’ allosauroids – the carcharodontosaurids. G. carolinii was slightly longer, yet significantly lighter than the mighty Tyrannosaurus, and much shorter than the fabled Spinosaurus, which is currently the largest known terrestrial predator of all time.

According to the Jurassic World website, the hybrid dinosaur Indominus Rex is composed of four large predatory dinosaurs, one of which is Giganotosaurus. However, information sourced from Dr. Henry Wu claims that in addition to these four creatures I. rex is also a chimera of T. rex, Velociraptor (sp.?), an unnamed genus of tree frog and the cuttlefish.
