The frozen T-bone steaks were stacked in one of the many walk-in refrigerators in the kitchen on Isla Nublar. Tim Murphy finds them while looking for ice cream for his younger sister, Lex Murphy. When a Velociraptor enters the kitchen, Tim grabs a handful of six steaks and sets them down in a path leading to a walk-in freezer in an attempt to trap the dinosaur. The Velociraptor eats the first steak, bones and all. However, it merely sniffs the other steaks, leaving them untouched. When the dinosaur finds the sixth steak in the freezer, Tim uses the opportunity to slam the steel door on the creature, successfully locking it inside the freezer.
