Flat Bed Truck (C/N)

Disambiguation Links – Flat Bed Truck (S/F)

A flatbed truck (or flatbed lorry in British English) is a kind of truck which, as its name suggests, has an entirely flat, level body with no sides or roof, in contrast to a pickup truck or a semi-trailer, which have defined compartments. The lack of boundaries allows the truck to load and unload goods quickly and easily, especially heavy loads which are not delicate or environmentally sensitive (such as foods). Flatbeds are usually used to transport construction equipment and other vehicles, as well as abnormally large loads which require larger amounts of space.

Flatbeds are also used to secure and transport large animals on occasion. InGen workers under the instruction of Robert Muldoon used a flatbed to transport a number of dinosaurs that had been sedated following the restoration of order in the park, notably a Hypsilophodon.
