The electric tour cars used were modified 1992 Ford Explorer XLT series. This series of Ford is an SUV style vehicle with optional 4-wheel drive. Though the car itself was unreliable compared to other SUV’s, its large interior made it a better choice for the standard tour around Jurassic Park. Additional floodlights and a sunroof were added to the vehicles, possibly to enhance the viewing experience.
