Central Saurian Encephalitis (CSE) is a fictional disease that was one of several viral diseases that lizards could transmit to man. It caused sleeping sickness in humans and horses. Marty Guitierrez was worried that the strange lizards that had been attacking children might be transmitting a disease similar to this one.
