Captain of the Mar Del Plata, a boat hired to take Dr. Ian Malcolm, Nick Van Owen and Eddie Carr along with their equipment to Isla Sorna. While beginning up one river in Isla Sorna, Carlos informs Nick that he refuses to go further up river due to stories he heard of fishermen coming too close to the islands and never returning. After acknowledging he has the radio and satellite phone and could return within two hours, he reveals that the locals call the island chain “Los Cinco Muertes,” meaning The Five Deaths.
