Burroughs (T/C)

Burroughs was the name of the town built by International Genetic Technologies on Isla Sorna. The town was meant to be connected to South Beach at the edge of the island via monorail, although the transit system was incomplete by the time of evacuation in 1989.

Burroughs served as the living quarters and recreational area for the employees of InGen that worked on Sorna. The town featured a general store, a church, basketball court and the Operations Center for the island. Hammond’s Mansion and Wu’s bungalow were confined in the walls of the town, but sealed off from the town proper by their own walls.

The town itself was named after author Edgar Rice Burroughs and featured a court named after the man with a statue dedicated to him. The Operations Center featured a mural of the, then uncanceled, Jurassic Park resort located on Isla Nublar and a map of Isla Sorna.
