The area-dispersal smoke cubes are part of a non-lethals kit brought to Isla Sorna by Ian Malcolm. There are three of them in the kit, described as being square blocks made of some rubbery substance. They make smoke when activated, presumably to be used to distract dinosaurs. While looking for a weapon to drive away a pack of Velociraptors, Sarah Harding dismissed the smoke cubes, as they would not have had any lasting effect on the raptors. Ian Malcolm began to describe how to use the smoke cubes, but was cut off by Sarah before he could share details.
