Featured in-game with the name “Kalashnikov”, the Norinco Type 56 has two variants in the game: One with high-recoil and a curved “banana” magazine, holding forty rounds; the other with higher recoil and a one hundred-round drum magazine. Both are effective against all types of Velociraptors.
Both are fully-automatic, but with light taps to the fire button, the player can fire the weapon with decent speed and far better accuracy than with full-auto.
While it bears a strong resemblance to the AK-47, the Type 56 can be distinguished by the fully-enclosed hooded front-sight (all other AK-pattern rifles have partially-open front-sights). It fires 7.62 x 39mm rounds.
Barrel length is 414 mm (16.3 in).
