Spinosaurus aegyptiacus (JN)

“Egyptian Spine Lizard” discovered in 1912 by Markgraf in Marsa Matruh, Egypt and described by Dr. Ernst Stromer von Reichenbach in 1915. Spinosaurus lived during the Middle Cretaceous Period about 110 million to 90 million years ago. Spinosaurus was over 12 meters (40 feet) in length and could even possibly reach up to 18 meters (60 feet) in length, stood 5 to 6 meters (16-20 feet) in height, & weighed 7 to 9 tons in weight. When its sail is included in vertical measurements it was approximately 6.5-7.5 meters (22-25 feet) tall. The most complete skeleton of a Spinosaurus was destroyed in 1944 during a bombing raid on Munich, Germany during World War II.
