Sensory Modalities (C/N)

Sensory modalities include the five senses found in humans, vision, hearing, touch, taste and smell. However, in other animals there are other modalities that take on additional sensory capabilities. Snakes can see infrared light, and bats use echolocation to detect their prey. Birds and Turtles also have Magnetosensors with which they could use to detect the earth’s magnetic field in order to migrate. Sarah Harding postulated that Dinosaurs could have sensory modalities that they didn’t even know about as a potential explanation for the Tyrannosaurus pair tracking the infant back to the trailers.
