Though only briefly mentioned and never explored in-depth, the Motion Sensor Tracking System was a means of keeping track of all the animals on Isla Nublar.  In the Jurassic Newsletter it is stated that the animal count is tallied every 15 minutes.  The display is shown on vertical glass maps with jagged blue lines indicating the animal’s movements and spots of light showing all the animals’ locations is updated every 30 seconds.  The motion trackers are placed on 92% of the island, whether hard-wired or radio telemetered and will sound an alarm within 5 minutes should an animal go into a non-sensored zone.
