Miniature Elephant (C/N)

This miniature elephant was a small, dog sized elephant that InGen founder, John Hammond commissioned his geneticists to create to be used for funding presentations to investing companies such as Densaka and Hamaguri. The animal was used it to impress investors with the possibilities of genetic technology in a presentation that Hammond dubbed the “Pachyderm Portfolio”. However, the elephant itself was not a genetically engineered organism, but an organism created through the careful use of hormones. It was prone to colds, and had a poor temperament, characteristics attributed to the origin and stature of the creature. Its fate is left unknown, however its frequently sickly nature caused Hammond to constantly fear that the miniaturized mammal would die before another could be created.
