M16 (T/C)

One of many weapons cut from the final version of Trespasser, the M16 is the famous assault-rifle used heavily by U.S. armed forces. It is the military designation of the AR-15 rifle, adapted for both three-round bursts and fully-automatic use. It fires 5.56mm NATO rounds.

The M16 entered U.S. military service in 1963, deployed in Vietnam for jungle-warfare. It eventually replaced the M14 as the U.S. standard service rifle for the Vietnam War in 1969. The M16 rifle family has been the primary rifle of the U.S. Army since then.
