The M14 is the most common semi-automatic rifle in the game. Carrying twenty rounds, it can down most “Tribe A” and “Tribe B” Velociraptors in two to three well-placed headshots. “Tribe C” raptors can take five to seven rounds before dropping.
The M14 is also one of the few well-rounded weapons in the game: it carries decent power and mag size, is accurate, and has moderate recoil.
Formally known as the “United States Rifle, 7.62mm, M14”, it is an American selective fire automatic rifle using 7.62 x 51mm NATO rounds. It used to be the standard U.S. military rifle in the Contiguous United States, Europe, and South Korea, until it was replaced by the M16 in 1970.
The M14 still remains in limited front-line service, but is mostly used as a ceremonial weapon by honor guards, color guards, drill teams, and the like.
