Life Vest (S/F)

Disambiguation Links – Life Vests (C/N)

Life vests–also known as life preservers or life jackets, among other things–are personal floatation devices that are used as a safety precaution in water in order to keep the wearer afloat. The most common materials used in the creation of life vests are synthetic foams which retain buoyancy, though other types of life preservers can be inflated, either by the user’s own breath or by pulling a string which automatically inflates the vest.

Eric Kirby and Ben Hildebrand wore foam-filled life jackets during their parasailing trip to Isla Sorna in 2001.
