John Rosengrant is an Academy Award nominated Character Creator and teacher at Stan Winston School of Character Arts as well as a Co-Founder of Legacy Effects. Rosengrant majored in Fine Arts at Louisiana State University and moved to Los Angeles in 1983 to pursue a career in special effects. In Los Angeles, he joined Stan Winston Studio where he worked on film projects such as the Terminator franchise, Aliens, and Predator. Rosengrant was a special effects supervisor for the Jurassic Park films and specifically worked on the Male Tyrannosaurus animatronic in both the Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. After the passing of Stan Winston in 2008, Rosengrant, along with Shane Mahan, Lindsay Macgowan, and Alan Scott, founded Legacy Effects.
