The various man-made facilities on Isla Sorna were interconnected by roadways. Most of these were simple dirt roads and, during the course of the two expeditions there, saw several important events: Dr. Ian Malcolm, Eddie Carr, and Dr. Jack Thorne first encountered one of the Tyrannosaurus on the road, which marked its territory on the hood of their car. Dr. Lewis Dodgson and Howard King were chased by the adult Tyrannosaurus on one road until they crashed; and Dr. Sarah Harding later recovered the electric car on another stretch of road the day after it shorted out, finding it surrounded by a herd of Pachycephalosaurus.
