These are physical labor workers at the Mano de Dios Amber Mine in the Dominican Republic. They dig in the mine, clearing rock and debris in their search for amber, especially those pieces containing petrified mosquitos. If such a specimen is discovered, Juanito Rostango would be alerted and he would immediately come to examine it.
